I believe that codependency, as a collaborative artist, is vital to the songwriting process. The only times I have ever found myself to grow as a lyricist, performer & songwriter are when I have allowed myself to work alongside other artists.
Everyone wants to be the next ‘Ed Sheeran’, and rightfully so - on the surface it appears that he is in complete creative control of every element of his music. This was always inspiring to me growing up. But as I get older I have come to realise that anchoring to other musicians & writers, as well as allowing myself to BE mentored by others, has been the most crucial step in drawing out my full potential.
The takeover

“During late 2020, Gospel rapper Faithchild reached out to me and Dave Charlton (my producer at the time). A friend of mine had sent him a sample of my verse on a new track titled: “The TAKEOVER” and he asked if he could feature on the release.”
“We met with Faithchild during Lockdown, via Zoom, and from there we began to discuss the project. What came forth was a handful of co-writing sessions, the entire project was conceived, recorded, mixed & mastered online with no physical contact. Faithchild brought a whole new level of intensity, passion & perspective to the project.
Vocalist & personal friend Ru Cullen was added at a later date to do backing vocals.
TAKE ME HOME
1AM (Ft. JAKE GOODING)
After strong feedback from the release of “The TAKEOVER”, The Bristol / Bath based electronic band ‘1AM’ hit me up to do a featured rap verse on their upcoming single “Take Me Home’.”
The verse was written, recorded & bounced all in the space of one evening from the comfort of my bedroom. Elements were then re-recorded in post at the residency of one of .
The Track is set to be released May 2024.
